A vegan Caribbean restaurant has opened in Angel, Islington just in time for Veganuary.
Jam Delish’s flagship restaurant opened in Tolpuddle Street in December.
Dishes include vegan jerk ‘chicken’ wings with rice and peas, ‘saltfish’ tostones and ‘oxtail’ stew.
The restaurant was based at The Sun & 13 Cantons pub near Carnaby Street in Soho between February and August 2022.
Jam Delish has cooked for the likes of England football star Raheem Sterling, Black Panther actress Letitia Wright, actress Lily James and US rapper Common.
Jam Delish co-founder Jordan Johnson said: “My sister and I have grown up in Tooting but are from Caribbean heritage.
“We both made the decision to go vegan many years ago now but always missed the authentic Caribbean dishes we grew up on.
“From here we started experimenting and have managed to create vegan versions of our favourite Caribbean meals over the years.
“A hot favourite is definitely the vegan jerk ‘chicken wings’ on the ‘bone’ and our curry ‘goat’.”
The restaurant has its own bar to serve Jam Delish’s signature cocktails and will also open its terrace space in warmer weather.
Bookings for 2023 can now be made at https://www.jamdelish.co.uk/.
