Roads were closed after a takeaway fire in Islington earlier today (January 10).
The London Fire Brigade was called to reports of a blaze at the Chicken Express restaurant in Seven Sisters Road at 11.23am.
Parts of Seven Sisters Road and Holloway Road were closed while firefighters four fire engines and 25 firefighters worked at the scene.
Part of the ground floor restaurant was damaged, and a number of people evacuated the premises before the brigade arrived.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led three people to safety from flats above the restaurant.
The fire brigade said the blaze was under control by 12.28pm.
There are currently no reports of any injuries.
At 1pm, a police cordon could still be seen in place outside Chicken Express in Seven Sisters Road.
Firefighters from Holloway, Islington, and Kentish Town fire stations attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
