There has been confusion today (March 15) as to whether Overground services are running from Highbury and Islington station.
A Tube strike has wreaked havoc across the London Underground network and has shut the Victoria line section of Highbury and Islington station.
Although Overground services were expected to be running as normal today and a TfL spokesperson said the station was open, TfL’s official Twitter account has told users that “Highbury and Islington Station is closed for London Overground services due to strike action on London Underground”.

Commuters have been left confused as TfL’s website says that there is “good service” on its London Overground service.
One Twitter user said: “My wife just walked past, and said Highbury & Islington Overground was closed, so she had to walk to Canonbury instead.
“The trains are running, but not stopping at H&I.”

The trains are running, but not stopping at H&I.
But in a later Tweet, the same user said: “Correction…she said ‘it looks closed’, but is actually open”.
Correction... she said it "looks closed", but is actually open. :-/

The user then apologised for the "confusion" of his contradictory Tweets. In response, another Twitter user said: “It’s not you that’s causing it”.

Great Northern had already confirmed that there would be no service on its trains at Moorgate, Old Street, Essex Road, Highbury and Islington and Drayton Park.
TfL’s website says: “Some stations managed by London Underground may be closed due to this strike and DLR, Elizabeth line and London Overground services will not be able to stop at those stations.
“This may also impact customers interchanging services at some stations which are closed.
“Customers are encouraged to check before they travel.”
