A man who shouted antisemitic abuse at an Orthodox Jewish man has been fined £200.
At around 9.30am on October 17, 60-year-old Kevin Joseph became abusive towards the victim at a bakery in Stamford Hill.
He was arrested by police and 24 hours later he found himself in the dock at Thames Magistrates’ Court.
Joseph, of Northumberland Park, pleaded guilty to religiously aggravated intentional harassment.
The court heard a victim impact statement and a community impact statement from Dr Dave Rich, director of policy at the Community Security Trust.
Joseph was fined £200, an increase from £120 due to the religiously aggravated nature of the abuse.
