A man from Islington has been found guilty of raping a woman twice in the toilets of Kings Cross railway station.
Abdifatah Mohamud, 35, of Bingfield Street was sentenced to 11 years in prison yesterday (January 12) at Inner London Crown Court for two counts of rape.
The “manipulative” rapist was arrested following a British Transport Police investigation into the incidents that occurred in 2022.
The court heard that on October 12 at around 5pm that year, the victim was at a local park with a group of people that included Mohamud. He claimed that he knew the victim and had been talking to her, giving her his nickname.
Later that day, at around 10pm, she returned to Kings Cross train station and joined the same group from earlier.

BTP said she was approached again by Mohamud, and he proceeded to coerce her into the toilets where he raped her.
It was further revealed that he took the woman for food after this to manipulate her into believing he meant no harm. However, it was found that he had again coerced her into the toilets, forced her to take drugs and raped her again.
Mohamud, BTP said, left the scene after the victim became vocal and started getting upset. She was found in the toilets by a cleaner who informed security and a report was made to British Transport Police.
Detective Constable Adrienne Curzon, the Investigating Officer in the case, called Mohamud a “calculating offender” who used “coercion and manipulation in order to rape the victim”.
He said: “This has been an extremely frightening experience for her, and I hope this outcome goes some way to help her move on from the traumatising ordeal she was subjected to.
“We take all reports of sexual offences seriously and I hope this sends a strong message to offenders that we will do everything in our power to ensure that justice is served.”
Mohamud has also been handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a life-long signature on the Sex Offenders Register.
