A 140-year-old pub that has been closed for a decade could be set to reopen.
The Admiral Mann in Hargrave Place, Holloway, shut in 2014 after it was sold to developer Woodham Properties.
Two years later, the company’s bid to convert parts of the pub into new housing was rejected by Camden Council.
In 2020, new owner MG Holdings asked to use the building as an HMO for three years – but this was also turned down.
Now consultancy West Creative has asked people to comment on what they would like to see at the site.
Under current plans, the pub would be reopened, with a refurbished toilet and kitchenette.
Proposals also suggest using the outside of the pub for pop-up events, community markets and other outdoor activities.
The Admiral Mann was built in 1881, and operated as a pub until 2014.
Regulars pledged to fight the closure in 2014, with a petition. Even when it had closed, they met again and were confident it would one day reopen.
It is expected that detailed plans for the pub would be submitted to the council for consideration after the consultation.
People can give their thoughts about the future of the pub until July 5.
It was listed as an asset of community value by Camden for five years at the time of the sale after the campaign to save the pub. This means the community would be given the option to buy the premises if it was offered for sale.
