A woman in her 60s has died after being knocked over by a double decker bus.
Police were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of a collision involving a double decker bus and a pedestrian in Baron Street, at the junction with White Lion Street, Angel, at 2.25pm yesterday (October 3).
Paramedics provided first aid but despite their efforts the pedestrian – a woman aged in her 60s - died at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and support will be provided to them by specially trained officers.
The driver of the bus, a man aged in his 40s, stopped at the scene - he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses or any road users with dashcam footage to come forward.
