Police have launched a manhunt after a series of blackmail cases left the members of the Chinese community in Islington “incredibly shaken”.
Since January, victims near Chapel Market and Liverpool Road have been approached by suspects asking if they knew a doctor.
The suspects then demanded that victims withdraw large sums of money from nearby ATMs.
Victims were threatened that if they refused, their family members would "mysteriously" get hurt in the coming days.
Officers have released images of people they want to identify and speak with.
Police are urging anyone with information about the people in the images to report it online, call 101, or contact them on X @MetCC quoting CAD 3232/14OCT24.
Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org.
Detective Constable Paulo Roberts, who is leading this investigation, said: "These incidents left the victims incredibly shaken and we know it has caused huge concern within the Chinese community."
"I want to assure local people that extensive enquiries have been conducted, and our work is still ongoing.
“The images we have are good quality and I am sure there is someone out there who will recognise these individuals."
